
Hening Wikan
Wikan got her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Wikan is a junior qualitative researcher, specializing in economy-political issues. She is responsible for data collection as well as supporting analysis and getting it out into the world.
Prior to joining SMERU, Wikan worked as junior researcher for Research Centre for Politics and Government (PolGov), Universitas Gadjah Mada. She was involved in a study on “Women's Collective Action and the Village Law in Indonesia”, a research collaboration between Universitas Gadjah Mada, University of Melbourne, and Program MAMPU.
In 2010, Wikan became the youngest medalist in Indonesian Science Project Olympiad (ISPO) for her research on waste management. She also completed her undergraduate study as The Best Graduate of Department of Politics and Government. In 2020, her article titled "There's More to Fashion than Vogue: Strategi Fashion Revolution Indonesia dan Isu Kualitas Hidup Buruh" was published by B2P3KS Ministry of Social Affairs Republic of Indonesia in Jurnal Penelitian Kesejahteraan Sosial.
