Description & Progress

The objective of the social qualitative research work in 2016 is to make an assessment of socioeconomic out comes and impacts of the improvement of EINRIP project road in Kabupaten Nagekeo, East Nusa Tenggara and Kabupaten Sinjai – Kabupaten Bulukumba, South Sulawesi.



The study adopts qualitative method through in-depth interviews with local officials, the business sector and local residents, together with focus group discussions with local residents, in accordance with the Monitoring Survey Guidance provided by the EINRIP Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (MES).  To the extent possible, SMERU will contact and work with the respondents from the relevant Baseline surveys.  

Areas of enquiry include: Local social and economic welfare and Transport services and distribution systems. The study has started since early of May 2016 and is expected to be completed by 11 November 2016.  Fieldwork will be carried out in South Sulawesi in mid-May and in Flores in early August.
