Description & Progress

As the government has made stronger commitments toward achieving SDGs target and developing the road map to achieve the targets, and is now in the process in finalizing the 2020-2024 Medium Term Development Plan, it is timely to further comprehensive review to revisit the 2015 Strategic Review. Based on the latest data and analysis available, as well as the most recent development in policies and programs related to food security and nutrition, the updated review is expected to help in identifying the changes and gaps between the current condition, problems, and existing policies that should be the future national focus, and the focus of WFP for 2021-2025.



This update strategic review has two main objectives:

  1. To build on the comprehensive and detailed understanding of the national food security and nutrition situation from 2015 and outline the current context in relation to the 2030 Agenda and SDG 2; and
  2. To identify WFP’s role within this context.

The review will be based on desk study using information collected from literature and document reviews, secondary data analysis, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions.
