The SMERU Research Institute is a private campus in Cikini, Menteng, Jakarta which is ranked 108th in the RePEc-Ideas list, and number 115 among the Economic Research Insitutes for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). RePEc-IDEAS rankings are conducted every month based on the activities of researchers, research institutes, and bibliographic and citation data.
“This demonstrates that Economics at Unpad, above all in terms scientific publications, is quite distinguished in Indonesia”, said FEB Unpad researcher and lecturer Arief Anshory Yusuf, as quoted by Okezine from the Unpad page on Wednesday (1/7/2015).
According to Arief, this accolade does not only demonstrate that FEB Unpad has already published widely an international level, but also demonstrates the quality of research because this assessment is also done on the basis of the number of citations that a publication receives from other researchers.
“Publications are seen in terms of quantity and impact. Impact is how many times it is quoted and and cited,” explained the Director of the Unpad Centre for Economics and Development Studies (CEDS).
RePEc-IDEAS itself is a research database in the field of economics which encompasses research articles, researchers, writers, and institutions.
