EINRIP Monitoring & Evaluation Post Improvement Qualitative Social Research: Fifth Monitoring Report, South Sulawesi (Bulukumba & Sinjai) - 2016

This report describes the result of the qualitative socioeconomic monitoring conducted by The SMERU Research Institute toward the EINRIP road improvement in Kabupaten Bulukumba and Kabupaten Sinjai in the South of Sulawesi. The objective of the road improvement was support socioeconomic development in the eastern Indonesian region through improvement of the national road network that can meet standards of quality and accessibility, thus enabling the development of local and regional economies. The study uses a qualitative approach.

Urban Child Poverty and Disparity: The Unheard Voices of Children living in Poverty in Indonesia

This study aims to gain a deep understanding of the characteristics of poverty and disparities experienced by children living in poor households in urban areas, and factors affecting their experience, seen from the perspective of the children. It utilizes the results from qualitative research conducted in six kelurahan (urban villages) in three cities in Indonesia—North Jakarta, Makassar, and Surakarta—emphasizing grounded participatory principle with children aged 6–17 years as the primary participants.

The Dynamics of Poor Women’s Livelihood: A Case Study amidst a Fuel Price Change

This research is a part of a four-year longitudinal study from 2014–2020 which aims to analyze the impact of the fixed fuel subsidy policy on the livelihood of poor women, particularly on the livelihood aspects that are the working themes of MAMPU.

Poor Women's Livelihoods and Access to Public Services

This study is part of a 2014-2020 longitudinal study series that aims to study the lives of poor women across five themes, namely access to social protection, employment, women migrant workers, maternal and reproductive health, and violence against women (specifically domestic violence). By studying the lives of poor women in five districts in Indonesia (Deli Serdang, Cilacap, Timor Tengah Selatan, Kubu Raya, and Pangkajene and its archipelago), this study developed a preliminary picture of the lives of poor women in relation to the five themes.
