The SMERU Research Institute supported Yayasan Ciliwung Merdeka in organizing a Forum Akademisi dan Praktisi Pecinta Kampung Kota (Academics’ and Practitioners’ Forum on Urban Village) seminar entitled "Together We Build Urban Villages" on Wednesday, 4 November 2015. The seminar was part of the initial series of public information symposiums, exhibitions, and campaigns, which acted as a medium for higher education academia, researchers, and practitioners of urban issues to contribute their ideas to making Jakarta more humane, and socially and ecologically justice-minded through an independent and participatory democratic process.
