In this edition, we present some of the findings from the study, particularly the characteristics of microbusinesses, their potential to absorb more workers, and their role in poverty reduction. Other issues discussed include how microbusinesses differ from small businesses and the difficulty in determining the number of microbusinesses in Indonesia.

This study is the first attempt to systematically examine the impact of bad governance practices in Indonesia on poverty reduction. Indonesia is a country that has endured bad governance for a long period, but has also sustained significant poverty reduction.
