The SMERU Research Institute, in collaboration with the Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held a discussion on the topic of Building a Better IMF: Lessons from Independent Evaluations of IMF Performance. In this event, Dr. Charles Collyns and Dr. Prakash Loungani (IEO) presented how the IEO works and shared key findings from some of IEO recent evaluations. In the discussion session, Prof. Dr. Bambang P. S. Brodjonegoro (Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas) and Dr. Maxensius Tri Sambodo, MIDEC (Researcher, LIPI) presented their recommendations about future topics for evaluation and ways to strengthen the role of independent evaluation at the IMF.
