Domestic chores and family caregiving are still heavily undervalued and, all too often, fall solely on one side: women. It is also not uncommon for society to pass these responsibilities onto domestic workers (PRT).

The SMERU Research Institute, alongside Kalyanamitra and the National Network for Domestic Worker Advocacy (@jalaprt), with support from the Government of Canada and the Penabulu Foundation, conducted a study on fairer domestic labor (unpaid care work) and the vulnerabilities faced by domestic workers (paid care work). This study is part of the "Care Connect: Action for Care Workers in the Philippines and Indonesia" project.

The study aims to uncover evidence that can support efforts to raise awareness about the fair distribution of domestic responsibilities and advocate for the recognition of domestic workers as a profession in Indonesia. The findings of this study will be presented in full during the dissemination event.
