As part of the series of Regional Development Forum (FPD), on 9 May 2018, The SMERU Research Institute, in collaboration with the Institute for Research and Community Service (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat/LP2M) of Hasanuddin University and BaKTI, held the “National Seminar: Sharing Findings of the Socioeconomic Studies Conducted by LP2M of Hasanuddin University and The SMERU Research Institute”. The event aimed at consolidating various findings of socioeconomic studies on poverty and inequality reduction and regional development in general, as well as improving the utilization of the study findings in formulating public policies, especially to reduce poverty and inequality.
The seminar started with the plenary session, with an opening note and keynote speech by Dr. Sudarno Sumarto (TNP2K Policy Advisor) with the theme “Improving the Quality of Research for Formulating Public Policies”. The seminar was then divided into two presentation sessions, in each of which speakers presented studies on rural development and economic inequality.
