The SMERU Research Institute, with the full support of Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI), initiated the development of SMERU Learning Centre (SLC). SLC is a platform to learn about socioeconomic research which focuses on inequality and poverty and the utilization of research findings to improve the quality of public policies.
As part of the series of product development, SMERU organized a soft launch and talk show to introduce SLC and disseminate information about its online study material to relevant stakeholders and the public.
The event aimed at introducing SLC and studying the material on poverty alleviation policies and other materials that people can learn on the platform.
Specifically, the soft launch was expected to:
- introduce SLC as an e-learning platform which focuses on socioeconomic research, especially on issues of poverty and inequality, and the utilization of research findings to improve the quality of public policies, and
- inform about the services on SLC as an e-learning provider and simultaneously build a synergy with other related institutions.
