Viona is a junior mixed-methods researcher with a strong interest in women and gender, the protection and empowerment of vulnerable groups, and cyberpsychology. At SMERU, she contributes to projects that focus on vulnerable populations (e.g., people with disabilities, low-income communities) and children’s internet use. Her work involves conducting literature reviews, engaging with stakeholders, analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, and contributing to report writing.
Before joining SMERU, Viona was actively involved as a research and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Airlangga. Her undergraduate thesis, which examined the effects of gender norms and personality traits on technology-facilitated sexual violence, was published in two nationally accredited journals. After completing her degree, she worked as a researcher at a psychological services company, conducting studies on youth and the psychological conditions of indigenous women. One of her projects was published in a Q1-ranked international journal.
During her undergraduate studies, Viona won several competitions at both the university and national levels. She graduated in 2023 with distinction (cum laude) and was honored as an outstanding graduate.
