Gregoria Maisy Dwi Lestari

About 

Maisy is a junior administrative staff member at the SMERU Learning Centre (SLC). She supports program implementation, including managing administrative processes and logistical requirements for training courses organized by SLC. In addition, Maisy is responsible for managing SLC’s social media accounts and producing content. With a strong interest in social research and public policy, the content she creates not only promotes SLC’s programs but also provides educational insights into socioeconomic policy research.

Maisy was involved as an intern researcher in two SMERU studies focusing on care work, namely the “Future Demand for Care” project and a study on the experiences of female ride-hailing drivers in the Greater Jakarta area. In these studies, she contributed to the development of research instruments, field data collection, and the writing of research reports. Previously, she also completed internships at several nongovernmental organizations working on issues related to democracy, human rights, and youth.

Maisy graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Universitas Indonesia in 2025 with cum laude honors. Her undergraduate thesis examined layered victimization among the families of victims of the 1984 Tanjung Priok human rights violations. She was awarded second place in the 2024 Kentingan Journalism Week Essay Competition, organized by LPM Kentingan at Universitas Sebelas Maret, with her essay titled “Sensationalism as a Shortcut for Survival amid the Commercialization of New Media”. In 2023, Maisy also won first place in the Liblicious Epicentrum Program Proposal Competition at Universitas Padjadjaran. Working in a team of three, she developed a proposal titled “SAFEGUARD: School-based Awareness and Education for Combatting Online Gender-based Violence with Digital Literacy”.
