We celebrate National Education Day every May. Enhancing aspects of our education system is crucial to delivering higher quality and inclusive education.
Improving the quality and inclusion of education is one endeavor to reduce poverty and inequality. SMERU has studied Indonesia’s education since 2002. Not long ago, SMERU led RISE Programme in Indonesia (2017–2022), a global research program that investigated how education systems can overcome learning crises. Go to rise.smeru.or.id to learn more about this project or read the studies’ results.
In this issue, we feature articles on Indonesian education. We also have other exciting news for you, including SMERU’s research on the efficacy of different information treatments on the adverse effects of air pollution in schools and the four series of Forum Kajian Pembangunan seminars that will be held by SMERU this June. We hope you will join in one of these discussions (or all!) aimed at promoting evidence-based policy formulation.
