SMERU conducted research to identify gaps in the social protection system in Papua, particularly looking at its impact on the indigenous peoples of Papua. We released the findings in conjunction with the commemoration of Papua Special Autonomy Day on 21 November. You can dive into the results and recommendations of this research through a five-part policy brief series, accessible in this edition of Nawala SMERU.
November also marks National Teacher's Day, making it the perfect time to explore two readings on educational subjects from research by the RISE Programme in Indonesia. These readings specifically address the issue of pre-service teacher education and teacher professional development.
In December, SMERU Learning Centre will open another class on the introduction to impact evaluation. Please register as soon as possible for those interested, as the slots are limited.
