For the 2011–2021 period, the Inclusive Economic Development Index (IEDI) of Kabupaten (District of) Ketapang was lower than Indonesia’s national average. Its economic growth rate, which was higher than both the national average and province, was not followed proportionally by a decrease in its poverty rate.

Indonesia is one among countries in the world with severe nutrititional status in the world with its stunting prevalence of around 31%. This is not directly proportional to the government’s increased expenditure in their nutrition improvement attempt that it gives rise to a question on the effectiveness of the interventions they have made.
Using a mixed-methods approach, this study investigated the impact of the PINTAR Program in Paser District. The Tanoto Foundation partnered with regional education offices to provide support and guidance to school principals and teachers. The quantitative analysis involved surveys of 10 primary schools (SD) and 10 lower secondary schools (SMP) which consist of 10 intervention schools and 10 control schools.
