The SMERU Research Institute, in collaboration with the Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, held a “Workshop on the Achievement of MDGs in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and the Challenges in Achieving SDGs” on Tuesday, 7 March 2017, at the Office of NTB Governor.
This report serves as the final report of the Life in a Time of Food Price Volatility research project in Indonesia. Results discussed in this report are based on the third year research activities focused on changing food habits and people’s perspectives towards processed and unsafe food.
Local health financing scheme in Indonesia has been a continuing debate over the last decade. These local initiatives were mainly motivated by local political contexts in the decentralization era that stipulates roles of local governments in public spending and service delivery in various sectors, including health.
From this study we found that, while JKN indeed protects the insured, poor pregnant mothers and newborns from direct medical cost, they still experience significant indirect costs to access the MNCH services.
