This study looks at emigration governance in the context of decentralized Indonesia. It examines various local initiatives that have evolved following the onset of decentralization in Indonesia a decade ago. These initiatives materialize in the form of perda (local regulations). In this study, first, a literature review is performed particularly to address the issue of perda related to overseas employment.
This report examines the policy options and financial implications of the expansion of senior secondary education in Indonesia. The government wishes to increase the gross enrolment rate from 70% to 85% by 2014 and aims for universal 12-year education by 2019.
Expenditure changes and poverty impact. This paper looks first at new data sources on changes over the last year in expenditures and asset ownership and asset sales as proxies for income changes due to the crisis. These data dispel the notion that half of Indonesia’s population will slip below the poverty line (predictions which were analytically unsound in any case).
