The SMERU Research Institute (SMERU), in collaboration with the Development Economics Study Program, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), held the “National Seminar on the Welfare Improvement of the Poor: Dissemination of the Findings of Studies by the Development Economics Department of UNS and The SMERU Research Institute”. The seminar was held on Wednesday, 30 March 2016, at Buildings 1 and 2 of the Economics and Business Faculty, UNS. At the seminar, SMERU and UNS presented the findings of their studies which focus on the current development-related issues in the socioeconomic field. At the national seminar, SMERU had the chance to introduce and discuss the institution’s research activities and publications, notably those that were carried out in Kota (City of) Surakarta and other cities in Central Java Province. Moreover, at the seminar, SMERU invited input and suggestions from stakeholders in the region about the direction of its future studies.
