In 2019, The SMERU Research Institute collaborated with The Center for Sustainable Development Goals Studies (SDGs Center) of Padjadjaran University in holding a national seminar themed “The Direction of Human Resources Development in President Joko Widodo’s Second Term: Lessons from the Current Research and Practices”. The theme was chosen following the president’s decision in his second term of office to focus on human resources development as an important factor in driving forward the national economy. It takes collaboration of the government, stakeholders, the public, and the private sector to accelerate the achievement of human resources development target and to achieve optimum results. The national seminar served as a platform to discuss choices of policies and steps that need to be taken based on the result of current research and practices.
