Murni is a junior quantitative researcher. She is responsible for developing research instruments, collecting data, processing primary and secondary data, and compiling supporting analyzes and study findings. Murni has expertise in creating data entry programs for surveys using CSPro software and perform quantitative analyses using STATA statistical application. Murni has an interest in poverty and health topics.

Prior to joining SMERU, Murni was a data analyst at the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K), a cross-ministerial/institutional coordination team for implementing poverty reduction programs. While working at TNP2K, she monitored the implementation of government social assistance programs, two of which were the monitoring of the membership and utilization of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) and the implementation of the 3-kilogram liquified petroleum gas (LPG) social assistance pilot program. Murni also once worked as a research assistant at the World Bank in its Macro Trade Investment (MTI) team. While working at the World Bank, she analyzed non-tariff measure (NTM) documents. 

In 2018, Murni was awarded The Outstanding Student Award from Universitas Airlangga.
