Big data has the potential to improve the quality of health services in Indonesia, including to optimize the implementation of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program. Various institutions, both government and nongovernment, including the private sector, have initiated the collection and management of big data on health services. Collaboration and coordination of various institutions in the use of big data is needed to create an integrated and nonoverlapping big data ecosystem for the country's health system and services. The more innovative use of big data through predictive and prescriptive analyses is ultimately expected to become the basis for evidence-based JKN program policy-making. This was the main message that appeared in the discussion of the National Social Security System (SJSN) Communication Forum entitled "Mendalami Peran Big Data dalam Optimalisasi Kualitas Program Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN)" [Learning in Depth the Role of Big Data in Optimizing the Quality of the National Health Insurance Program (JKN)] on Thursday, 24 September 2020.
