According to a UNICEF report (2021), approximately 80 million children in Indonesia have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and more than 25,000 have been orphaned.

The pandemic has also led to an increase in the dropout rate of children aged 7-17 due to i) parents not having the money to pay for their children's schooling (74%), ii) children's lack of interest in school (12%), iii) children having to work during the economic crisis (2%), and iv) other reasons (8%).

This study attempts to provide a space for children's voices and to record their perspectives to understand children's needs in order to respond to child-related policies.
