Indonesia ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in 2011. Following this, the government revised Law No. 4 of 1997 concerning the Disabled into Law No. 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities and developed the Disability Master Plan (RIPD) and the National Action Plan for Persons with Disabilities (RAN PD) 2020-2024.

However, knowledge and understanding of the current situation of children with disabilities in Indonesia is still very limited.
