The COVID-19 pandemic emerged in December 2019 and swiftly became a global crisis, heavily impacting Indonesia. The country reported its first COVID-19 case within eight weeks of the outbreak and experienced a peak of over 64,000 daily cases on February 16, 2022, and 2,069 daily deaths on July 27, 2021. By June 2023, Indonesia had over 6.81 million cases and 161,857 deaths.
