The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are recognized as the global development agenda with a wider and more inclusive mandate than the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which ended in 2015. The SDGs differed to the MDGs as the latter were formulated by experts from member states of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and some international institutions.

We analyse the heights of children aged 2 to 12 in the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) focusing on the effect of the number of children in the family. Previous studies of the trade-off between the quantity of children and some measure of their quality have been much concerned with the endogeneity of fertility choices.

This paper looks into future possibilities for domestic workers to be upgraded to care workers. We study labour market dynamics using multi-level approach. Analysis at the global and macro levels indicates forces facilitating such a career shift. Nevertheless, the magnitude of the forces has not been reflected in emigration of domestic and care workers.

The Government of Indonesia is considering reform of its consumer subsidies for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) due to its rising fiscal cost: IDR 25 trillion (USD 1.9 billion) in 2016: around half of its total energy subsidy expenditure. Subsidized 3-kg LPG cylinders are currently available to all citizens.
