Indonesia needs to improve the quality of education in order to be able to compete in the increasingly globalized world, and school leadership is believed to be one of the critical points. This session explores ways to improve school leadership in Indonesian context.

On October 2018, the SMERU Research Institute hosted Forum Kajian Pembangunan (FKP) Seminar Series. FKP is a consortium consisting of various institutions in Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesia Project, holds a series of research based policy forums discussing research outcomes related to topical policy issues in Indonesia. These forums were free and open to the public.
RISE Programme in Indonesia, which started in 2017, is committed to actively participating in the Indonesian education system reform agenda, which is also an agenda for improving learning outcomes.
