The SMERU Research Institute, in collaboration with the Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, held a “Workshop on the Achievement of MDGs in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and the Challenges in Achieving SDGs” on Tuesday, 7 March 2017, at the Office of NTB Governor.

The workshop aimed at initiating a constructive policy dialogue and building communication with stakeholders in the region. The event provided an opportunity for SMERU and multiple stakeholders in NTB—from the government, universities, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and businesses—to discuss public policies within the framework of improving people’s welfare and reducing inequality, especially by achieving SDGs. Results of the discussion were expected to provide input for the formulation of a policy to achieve SDGs, notably at the regional level. Moreover, the event aimed at gathering input from the stakeholders in the region regarding the direction of SMERU’s future studies.
