Qualitative Monitoring and Impact Evaluation of EINRIP: Post Improvement Qualitative Social Research –2017

Background 

As a continuation of the qualitative monitoring and impact evaluation of the Eastern Indonesia National Roads Improvement Project (EINRIP), in 2017 SMERU will conduct a study in West Nusa Tenggara Province (Kabupaten Dompu) and South Kalimantan Province (Kabupaten Banjar).

These two location have previously been studied by SMERU for (a) baseline research in 2008 (Dompu & Banjar) and in 2012 (Banjar), (b) construction Impact research in 2011 (Dompu), (c) first monitoring surveys in 2013 (Dompu) and in 2014 (Banjar), and (d) a second monitoring survey in 2015 (Dompu). The main focus of the research will be the relationship between the road improvements and economic development in the areas served by the road.

 

Methodology 

SMERU will utilize group interviews, FGDs, and in-depth interviews with relevant officials/key informants. The study preparation will begin in April 2017.
