2019 Update to the Strategic Review of Food and Nutrition Security in Indonesia

Background

As the government has made stronger commitments toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including developing the road map for achieving this target, and is now finalizing the 2020–2024 Medium-Term Development Plan, it is time to revisit the 2015 Strategic Review for a further comprehensive review. The updated review will be based on the latest data and analysis and the most recent development in policies and programs on food security and nutrition. The said review will help identify changes and gaps between the current condition, problems, and existing policies that should be the future national focus and WFP's focus for 2021–2025.

Objective

This updated strategic review has two main objectives:

  1. To build on the comprehensive and detailed understanding of the national food security and nutrition situation from 2015 and outline the current context in relation to the Indonesian Government’s 2030 Agenda and SDGs
  2. To identify WFP’s role within (1) context
Methodology

The review will be based on desk study using information collected from literature and document reviews, secondary data analysis, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions.
