I’m delighted to share that The SMERU Research Institute has been included in On Think Tanks’ “100 Think Tanks to Watch 2025”. This recognition from fellow think tanks and policy professionals across countries strengthens our commitment to continuously improving the quality of our research and our contributions to better public policy.
With the aim of understanding future care demand, this research applies an intersectional feminist lens across three domains of care, including childcare, care for older people, and care for persons with disabilities.
Indonesian rural youth face challenges accessing farmland and sustaining an agricultural livelihood while their labour is not necessarily absorbed by other sectors. In that context, the Omnibus Law on Job Creation (Law No. 11 of 2020) promises to liberalise trade and investment across multiple sectors, including agriculture and food security.
SMERU is conducting a study to support the development of Kota (City of) Bogor’s health sector strategies, which covers maternal and child health, noncommunicable diseases, and mental health.
